Dr. Phan Ngoc Tam has more than 16 years of teaching law as a lecturer in International Law Faculty – Ho Chi Minh City University of Law. He has been working for many reputed universities as a visitor lecturer and also for some law firms in Ho Chi Minh City as a legal consultant, in which he has spent mostly 2 years for working as a senior legal consultant for Phuoc & Partners Law Firm which is one of the leading law firms in Vietnam.

Mr. Phan Ngoc Tam attained his Bachelor of Law degree (in 2000) at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Law with an outstanding result and therefore was accepted to continuously work as a lecturer in law in the University. He continued his education with the high rankings of Master of Law degree (in 2004) and Doctor of Law degree (in 2011) within the Joint Program between the HCMC University of Law and Lund University Faculty of Law (Sweden) sponsored totally by the Swedish Government. During the oversea studies, Dr. Phan Ngoc Tam had worked in well-known universities and institutes in the world including Copenhagen University Faculty of Law (Denmark), Suffolk University School of Law (Boston, MA, US), Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition and Tax Law (Munich, Germany), Mahidol University (Bangkok, Thailand) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) (Geneva, Switzerland).

As a scholar and a lecturer of law, Dr. Phan Ngoc Tam is an expert in various fields of law. In which, the main fields of his teaching are Private International Law, International IP Law, International Trade Law (focusing mainly on commercial dispute resolution, especially the commercial arbitration) and International Transportation and Maritime Law. Besides, throughout the LLM and PhD studies, Dr. Tam has specialized his researches in IP laws in general and trademark law in particular. In addition, Dr. Tam has also expressed a deep and wide knowledge of other legal fields such as civil law, labour law, criminal law, administrative law and laws on procedures. He has participated in many professional seminars and workshops in national and international level as well as published lot of works and articles in reputed legal journals and magazines. Especially, Dr. Tam has invited to be the speaker in many TV programs of famous television stations such as Vietnam Television (VTV1), Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV7) and Vinh Long Television (THVL1) as well as invited to be interviewed and give comments on various legal issues in many Newspapers and Articles.

Dr. Phan Ngoc Tam has strong advantages of comprehensive legal knowledge system, profound practical experience and specialized legal reasoning skills as well as the capacity of understanding and dealing with legal issues effectively, scientifically and systematically. Furthermore, using English fluently (and French limitedly) is also his other strong point in doing legal researches, communicating and providing legal advices to foreign clients.
